The Grinder

The Boys Varsity ran The Grinder today for the first time since mid-August.
Casey Clinger set a new Grinder record of 7:19, while Joe Simmons earned a pair of spikes by running 7:54; the 22nd boy to break 8:00.

Weekend Results

The Girls Varsity traveled to Boise, Idaho to compete in the Bob Firman Invitational. They placed 2nd overall in the 17 team Elite Race with 77 points; only 34 points behind US #1 Great Oak from Temecula, Ca..

Nebo Invitational

The Boys team and Girls JV are racing today at the Nebo XC Invitational held at Maple Mountain High School. The bus leaves AFHS at 1:45. Junior High students are released at 1:15 PM, high school students at 1:30 PM. Athletes must ride the bus in order to compete. A parent may take their athlete home after the team cooldown, and if a coach has been notified.

Maple Mountain High School is located off the North side of Highway 6 before the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. 51 N. 2550 E., Spanish Fork.

Viking Invitational Resuts

The boys team and the girls JV ran this morning at the Viking Invitational at Pleasant Grove High School. It was a gorgeous Fall morning, with sunny skies, and the temperature gradually increasing from about 60 degrees to about 65 degrees. The course was the same 3.00 mile course we ran at Pre-Region, and will run at Region. The top 14 girls were held out to prepare for the Bob Firman Invite next weekend.

Viking Invitational

This Saturday, the Boys Team and the Girls JV are racing at Pleasant Grove High School at the Viking Invitational. The bus will leave AFHS at 7:45 AM. Athletes who miss the bus will not be allowed to compete. Parents can take their athlete home if a coach is notified and after the team cooldown.

The Girls will be running at the Murray Invitational this Friday. The meet is held at Murray Park at 5100 South State Street in Murray. The bus will leave AFHS at 2:15 PM.

The bus will leave AFHS at 2:30 PM.

Utah County Invite Results

The boys JV squad raced today at the Utah County Invite hosted by Timpanogos High School at the Lakeside Sports Park in Orem.


In the Freshman/Sophomore Boys Race, Dalton Brems won a medal and t-shirt with a 5th place finish in 16:43, while Carson Clinger earned a medal in 13th place in 17:20.

Utah County Invitational

The boys (except the top 7) will be racing this Saturday at the Utah County Invitational. It will be held at the Lakeside Sports Park (1850 West, 400 South in Orem). Take Geneva Road to 400 South and turn right.

The boys should be at AFHS at 7:30 AM. Boys must ride the bus in order to compete. Boys missing the bus will not be allowed to run. The Freshman/Sophomore boys race is at 9:40 with the Junior/Senior boys race at 10:50 AM.
