Luke Grundvig ranked 63rd in the Nation on Dyestat after leading the Cavemen with a 40th place finish at NXN and an 8th place finish at NXN-SW.

Footlocker West Regionals

The Girls team and the Boys JV will be participating this Saturday at the Footlocker West Regionals at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. They will be traveling with Canyon View High School.

UHSTCA Pre-Footlocker Invite

The Utah  High School Track Coaches Association will host the Pre-Footlocker Invite this Saturday at AFHS. Registration is $4 per athlete. Girls race at 9:00 AM and the Boys at 9:30 AM.

Ethan Kelley (#31) and Logan Evans (#32) both joined the Sub-8 Club and earned spikes with times of 7:56 and 7:57, respectively.

NCAA Conference Weekend

Several Caveman alumni competed this weekend for the collegiate teams at their respective conference championships.

At the West Coast Conference championships held at Eastbay GC in Provo, Sara Musselman placed 9th overall in 21:14 for 6K to help her BYU team win with 27 points.
In the Men's Race, 4 Cavemen helped BYU win with 21 points. Connor McMillan placed 2nd overall in 23:23 in the 8K race. Brayden McLelland placed 5th in 23:39. Clayton Young placed 11th in 24:05, while Zac Jacklin placed 15th in 24:15.

At the Big Sky Conference Championships held in Sacramento. Lexie (Green) Thompson placed 14th in 17:16 for 5k to help Weber State to a 3rd place finish. In the 8k Men's Race, Tyson Green placed 10th in 24:06 to help Weber State place 2nd, while Joe Simmons placed 17th in 24:21 to help Idaho State to a 5th place finish.

For all athletes interested in participating in collegiate sports, Paul Putnam will speaking about NCAA eligibility requirements this coming Monday at the AFHS cafeteria at 6:30 PM. Parents are encouraged to attend with their athlete to learn about eligibility, athletic scholarships, and the recruiting process.

The Grinder Postseason Week #1

The boys did The Grinder today, and we had some great performances today.
Freshmen Jayden Fitzgarrald and Will Merkley both earned their Grinder t-shirts today with times of 8:21 and 8:51, respectively.
Dalton Brems finally earned a pair of spikes with a time of 7:51. He is the second athlete this season and 30th boy, overall to break 8:00. Grinder All-Time List

Utah State Championships

Yesterday, the Cavemen went to Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City to participate in the Utah State Cross Country Championships. They came back home in the evening with a firetruck escort and two State Championship trophies. We appreciate all the parents, family, fans, and student supporters who came up to cheer on the Cavemen!

Utah State Championships

Tomorrow the Cavemen will be racing at Sugarhouse Park at the Utah State Cross Country Championships. The buses will leave AFHS at 12:00 (Girls) and 12:15 (Boys).
The Girls Team will race at 2:00 PM, and the Boys Team will race at 3:30 PM.  JV members should bring $15 for dinner at the Chuck-a-rama on 4th South and 7th East in SLC.

Region IV Championships

The Region IV Championship will be held Thursday, October 4th at Cottonwood Complex in Holladay. 4300 S. 1300 E. it will be the same 3 mile course that we ran at Pre-Region.

Team photos will be taken at 1:00 PM Monday at AFHS. Athletes have an option of ordering individual packages of photos. Please bring your team uniform to wear for your photo.

Park City Invite Results

The Cavemen went yesterday to Quinn's Junction to participate in the afternoon session of the Park City Invite. We ran the top JV in the varsity race while the varsity went on an 8 mile trail run in preparation for the Region IV Championships next Thursday. Park City Invite

The boys team will be racing tomorrow at the Park City Invite held at the Quinn's Junction athletic park. The bus will leave AFHS at 2:00 PM. Jr. high students are released at 1:30, while the high school boys are released at 1:45. All athletes must ride up on the bus to participate. parents may take their athlete home if Coach Mostert has been notified.

The Cavemen will be participating this Friday at the Nebo Invitational held at Salem Hills High School. Directions: Salem Hills High School, 150 N. Skyhawk Blvd. Salem, UT 84653

From the North: Exit I-15 at the Spanish Fork Exit 257. Turn left (South) onto Spanish Fork Main St/UT-156. Continue South through Spanish Fork and into Salem. The high school is on the right side of the road.

BYU Autumn Classic Results

The Cavemen 4 of the 6 competitions at the BYU Autumn Classic, which was moved to Innovation Campus Park at Utah State University in Logan because of the fires in Utah and Juab Counties. It was warm and sunny on the 5000 meter course that had long grass and gravel roads. We also got to watch several AFHS Alumni race in the collegiate races. Complete Results.

BYU Autumn Classic

Both the Boys Team and the Girls Team will be racing this coming Saturday at the BYU Autumn Classic. It will be held at the Eastbay Golf Course in Provo  view directions to the courseParking - Parking is in the parking lot south of the Micro Focus building across the street. Busses will be allowed to drop of at the course, then they will be directed to go park.  Do not park at the US Bureau of Reclamation.

NOTICE: BECAUSE OF THE FIRE, THE MEET HAS BEEN MOVED TO INNOVATION CAMPUS PARK 1400 N. 1000 E. IN LOGAN UTAH AT USU. BUS STILL LEAVES AFHS AT 6:30 AM. NEW RACE SCHEDULE IS POSTED BELOW.

Wasatch Invitational

The boys will be competing this Saturday at the Wasatch Invitational held at Soldier Hollow.
Take the Provo Canyon Road (US-89) and turn left after  Deer Creek Reservoir onto Charleston Road. Take the left after the railroad tracks, and follow the signs to Soldier Hollow.
The bus will leave AFHS at 7:00 AM. All athletes must ride up on the bus in order to compete. parents may take their athlete home after team cooldown and if a coach has been notified.

Utah County Invite Results

We had a great number of personal records this morning at the Utah County Invitational. Conditions were ideal: 70 degrees, sunny, calm. The flat course was 3.00 miles with some swampy spots.
We held out the boys varsity seven to give our top JV runners a chance to run in a varsity meet and gain some valuable racing experience.
