Both the Boys Team and Girls Team have received at-large bids to race at Nike Cross Nationals on December 6th in Portland, Oregon.

NXR Southwest results

 American Fork did well at today's Nike Southwest Regionals, held at Toka Sticks Golf Course in Mesa. Arizona. It was cloudy, in the 60's and soft/muddy in places from earlier rain on the 5000m course. Complete Results

The Boys Team placed 4th overall in the Championship Race with  218 points. David Webb was 2nd Team All-Region with a 10th place finish in 14: 48.5. Chase Hejny was 32nd in 15:09.8. Dallin Harrington was 68th in 15:28.0.  Bennett Jensen was 90th in 15:36.2. Roy Jones was 99th in 15:41.6 Austin Plewe was 114th in 15:47.5, and Grant Hejny placed 122nd in 15:49.2.

The Girls Team placed 4th overall in the Championship Race with 143 points. Skye Jensen was 3rd Team All-Region with a 21st place finish in 17:34.4. Mae Glassford was 23rd in 17:41.7. Cali Dooley was 40th in 17:59.0. Sarah Watson was 77th in 18:28.8. Sophie Bahr was 99th in 18:41.6. Rebekah Jacob was 132nd in 18:57.5, and Shay Smith was 135th in 18:58.5.

In the Boys Large School Race #1, The Cavemen placed 3rd with 195 points.

Postseason Grinder #1

 Congratulations to Reid Freeman. He earned his "I Conquered The Grinder" t-shirt today with a time of 8:45. Abelina Howard also earned her t-shirt by running 10:29.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS

 Yesterday the Cavemen participated at the 2025 Utah 6A Cross Country State Championships, held at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City. It was sunny and high 50's on the 3.00 mile grass course.

The Boys Team placed 2nd with 62 points. They were only 2 points behind U.S. #2  ranked Herriman.

We had 3 All-State runners in Grant Hejny,4th place in 15:18..4, Chase Hejny, 5th Place in 15:19.2, and David Webb, 6th place in 15:22.5. Following them were Dallin Harrington,19th place  in 15:43.3, Roy Jones, 27th place in 15:52.9, Bennett Jensen, 31st place in 15:58.1, and Austin Plewe, 41st place in 16:12.4.

Both Chase and David broke the 6A Sophomore State Meet record, while Bennett broke the 6A Freshman State Meet record. Their Team Time of 77:36.2 was 7th All-Time for all classifications at the State Championships.

The Girls Team placed 2nd with 52 points. They finished 21 points behind U.S. #1 ranked Lone Peak.

Skye Jensen was the Individual State Champion for the second straight year with a time of 17:39.0 which is 12th All-Time at the State meet and a 6A Junior State Meet record. Also earning All-State honors were Mae Glassford, 4th in 18:07.0, and Cali Dooley, 8th in 18:20.0. Mae's time is the new 6A Freshman State Meet record. Following were Sarah Watson, 11th in 18:29.1, Shay Smith, 28th in 19:12.1, Sophie Bahr, 30th in 19:19.7, and Rebekah Jacob, 33rd in 19:31.6. Their Team Time of 91:47.0 was 5th all-time for all classifications at the State Championships.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION

 Next Wednesday, October 29th, is the Utah State 6A State Cross Country Championships at Sugarhouse Park (2100 S. 1300 E.) in Salt Lake City.

Athletes are excused at Noon, and the bus will leave AFHS at 12:30 PM. Athletes must ride on the bus in order to be excused from school. Any athlete that misses the bus will not be allowed to race. Parents may take their athlete home after team cooldowns are completed, and if a coach has been notified.

Parking must be paid for in advance. Carpoolinng is recommended. State swag can also be purchased in advance. Please read carefully the UHSAA State Meet Information page.
