STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS

 Yesterday the Cavemen participated at the 2025 Utah 6A Cross Country State Championships, held at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City. It was sunny and high 50's on the 3.00 mile grass course.

The Boys Team placed 2nd with 62 points. They were only 2 points behind U.S. #2  ranked Herriman.
We had 3 All-State runners in Grant Hejny,4th place in 15:18..4, Chase Hejny, 5th Place in 15:19.2, and David Webb, 6th place in 15:22.5. Following them were Dallin Harrington,19th place  in 15:43.3, Roy Jones, 27th place in 15:52.9, Bennett Jensen, 31st place in 15:58.1, and Austin Plewe, 41st place in 16:12.4.

Both Chase and David broke the 6A Sophomore State Meet record, while Bennett broke the 6A Freshman State Meet record. Their Team Time of 77:36.2 was 7th All-Time for all classifications at the State Championships.

The Girls Team placed 2nd with 52 points. They finished 21 points behind U.S. #1 ranked Lone Peak.
Skye Jensen was the Individual State Champion for the second straight year with a time of 17:39.0 which is 12th All-Time at the State meet and a 6A Junior State Meet record. Also earning All-State honors were Mae Glassford, 4th in 18:07.0, and Cali Dooley, 8th in 18:20.0. Mae's time is the new 6A Freshman State Meet record. Following were Sarah Watson, 11th in 18:29.1, Shay Smith, 28th in 19:12.1, Sophie Bahr, 30th in 19:19.7, and Rebekah Jacob, 33rd in 19:31.6. Their Team Time of 91:47.0 was 5th all-time for all classifications at the State Championships.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION

 Next Wednesday, October 29th, is the Utah State 6A State Cross Country Championships at Sugarhouse Park (2100 S. 1300 E.) in Salt Lake City.

Athletes are excused at Noon, and the bus will leave AFHS at 12:30 PM. Athletes must ride on the bus in order to be excused from school. Any athlete that misses the bus will not be allowed to race. Parents may take their athlete home after team cooldowns are completed, and if a coach has been notified.

Parking must be paid for in advance. Carpoolinng is recommended. State swag can also be purchased in advance. Please read carefully the UHSAA State Meet Information page.

 The Cavemen participated Tuesday at the Region III Cross Country Championships, held at Art Dye Park in American Fork. It was in the 60's going from sunny to partly cloudy on the 3.00 mile grass course.

 The Cavemen will be competing at the Utah Region III Championships this coming Tuesday, October 14th at Art Dye Park. The course is the same 3 mile course as the Twi-Knight Invitational. Junior High Students will be excused at 1:45 PM.

October Grinder

 The Team ran the Grinder for the last time of the regular season today.

The boys set 3 records today:
