Members of the Caveman Cross-Country team participated this morning in the Nike Southwest Regional Cross-Country Championships held in Mesa, Arizona at the Toka Sticks Golf Club. It was sunny with temperatures in the low 70's. Complete Results
The Boys Team placed 3rd in the Championship Race with 122 points. They are eligible to qualify for Nike Cross-Nationals as one of four at-large selections which will be announced next Saturday. The boys' team time of 74:55 is 7th all-time in the United States. Kaden Evans was the individual Champion in a time of 14:24.37 which is a course and meet record. Carter Moore was also All-Region with a 19th place finish in 14:56.70. The other runners for the Cavemen were Ryker Bement (25th in 14:58.90), Austin Plewe (42nd in 15:10.25), Alex Williams (73rd in 15:24.75), Dallin Harrington (85th in 15:28.13), and Chase Hejny (136th in 15:52.58).
The Girls Team placed 14th in the Championship Race with 385 points and a 93:58 team time. Skye Jensen was All-Region with a 19th place finish in 17:22.57. The other competitors for the Cavemen were Shay Smith (100th in 18:41.27), Sarah Watson (128th in 19:00.27), Haley Whitford (144th in 19:14.24), Katherine Leach (176th in 19:38.95), Sophie Bahr (177th in 19:39.46), and Mara Jensen (202nd in 19:59.58).
