The Cavemen participated Yesterday at the Utah State Cross-Country Championships held at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City. It was sunny and 39 degrees for the Boys Race, while the girls had partly cloudy and 43 degrees on the 3.00 mile grass course.

Boys: The Boys Team placed second, only 6 points behind US#1 ranked Herriman (44-50). Their team time of 77:08 was 3rd all-time at State, while Kaden Evans was individual champion with a time of 14:45.6 (#2 all-time at State and a new 6A record). Carter Moore was All-State with a 6th place finish in 15:17.5. They were followed by Ryker Bement (12th in 15:33.9), Austin Plewe (14th in 15:43.8), Alex Williams (17th in 15:47.1), Chase Hejny (37th in 16:10.2), and Dallin Harrington (43rd in 16:15.5).
Girls: The Girls Team placed third with 117 points, behind Lone Peak and Riverton. Skye Jensen was individual champion with a time of 17:35.6 (#7 all-time at State and a new 6A record). She was followed by Sophie Steiger (20th in 18:59.0), Shay Smith (24th in 19:05.3), Mara Jensen (37th in 19:27.2), Katherine Leach (39th in 19:31.3), Sarah Watson (43rd in 19:38.5), and Sophie Bahr (57th in 20:07.3).
The Cavemen now prepare for the Nike Cross Regionals in Mesa, Arizona on Saturday, November 23rd.
